We really enjoyed having Trinity's cousin Arianna with us for her spring break. We all had lots of fun and had game night a few times a week. As you can see with the pictures Trinity is growing and full of smiles. She also is developing an adorable little giggle that we love to hear. She loves talking (cooing) and telling us all about her day and night. We are getting ready for more company this weekend. Trinity is one popular little girl with lots of people who love her.
We hope this blog keeps family and friends updated throughout our blessed journey.

Sky Diving Cousins
Arianna was surprised as we took her for a special experience. Indoor skydiving at skyventure arizona. Arianna was all suited up and got to do 2 flight sessions!!! Arianna was a natural and did great in the tunnel. She was smiling the whole time!! On her last turn the instructor took her and the went way high swirling round and round and would bounced down and back up (we took video). Trinity loved the sound the wind tunnel made and vibrating floor. It put her right to sleep, ear plugs and all. So far so good!! We are having a wonderful time and Trinity is loving her cousin!!!

"Let the children come to me" Matthew 19:14
We had a wonderful visit with Alabama Grandma. Trinity enjoyed snuggling, playing and smiling with Grandma. Trinity did very well with some trips out and about around town to break up her routine.
A Covenant Child
This weekend was very special as Trinity was baptized on March 6, 2011. On Sunday she traveled to church in her slip, wrapped in a pretty white blanket made by Grandma Gates. Once at the church she put on her gown made by my mom, her Grandma 20 years ago. It has been worn by all of my nieces. She wore her very special heart necklace from Grammy and Papa for this special day.
I had this perfect plan to get to the church early to feed her and rock her to sleep. Then I would transfer her to Jason and she would sleep through the baptism or wake up just in time (happy because she slept). The key word to remember in this is "plan" yes I said I made a plan. I should know by now that nothing goes as planned when you have a baby. I fed her and she fell asleep for 2 minutes and was too distracted to go down again (she also missed her first nap of the day.. not good). She began to scream..... and scream..... and scream... tears streaming down her little face. No consoling, rocking, bouncing was going to make this better but we tried. Finally with one song left and a long prayer before her debut her eyes shut. So Jason and I slipped in the back to take our seats. We opened the door and BAM.. her eyes opened, bright eyed and ready... ready for what was ... exactly what I was wondering. Not a peep, I am praying like crazy for her to be happy and for the pastoral prayer to end (longest one of my life). The baptism began. She was sprinkled with water from the Jordan River my parents collected in 1990. She was happy, alert and quiet through the entire baptism. It was a wonderful service and we feel so blessed. On that same day we were reminded of how this can all come around from baptism to a profession of faith. My niece Tabitha made profession of faith that same day in Grand Rapids. For Jason and I it is such a beautiful example of how God works in our lives and gives us the hope that we will see Trinity make the same profession in her future. We are proud and happy parents and uncle and aunt this week!!!

Erin came to visit!!!

We had a great week. Erin came to visit and hang out for a few days. Trinity was perfect the whole way to Phoenix and back. We also went out to dinner two times and to the Frost for gelato and she was wonderful. Erin was great..she became Cash's new best friend and Trinity loved a new play friend to love on her. I think we are all figuring out a routine and schedules. Jason has had to work over a few weekends and late nights so it was nice to have Erin around to chat and laugh with.
This week we are focusing on napping and not having to sleep in peoples arms or chests for a nap. I heard its usually a rough 3 to 5 days but then its like magic!!! I am praying for the magic!! She did let me sleep for 7 straight hours last night so that is amazing.. we shall see if I get a repeat tonight!!!
We have a play date scheduled for Thursday with some friends from church. We are looking forward to more outings and I am hoping for some stroller walks this week!!

So Much to See!!!!
Each week brings new things for Trinity to learn and discover. She is more alert and is fascinated with the fan blades (like the Jimmy Buffet song) and her mobile in her crib. Every day we celebrate our little successes such as getting all ready by 8:30 a.m. NOT p.m. or the day that she lets me work out or eat my lunch and drink coffee while its still warm (the microwave is my friend). Trinity has her quiet moments, most of which are in the bathtub. Tub time is her favorite (try to take some pictures next week) she just smiles and kicks.
Trinity and I went into work this week and I turned in my notice. So in a couple weeks I will officially be unemployed by the governments standards (I have come to realize its more difficult staying at home with a baby all day then it is to deal with bad guys). We hope to join a mommy's walking group on our side of town in the future so we will have some adult interaction.

Grandma came to town
We had a great week with Jason's mom. She was able to meet Trinity and share in our joy. Jason loved showing off his little princess to her Grandma. Trinity started smiling last week so she was able to see lots of smiles from our bright eyed baby. We made a few trips out of the house to the Desert Museum, Kohl's and the mall. They were big days for Trinity but she did as well as we expected (she only lasts for about 1.5 hours)!!! I had my 6 week check up and everything is going well (blood pressure is back to being low.. YEAH!!!!) and I have the go ahead to exercise. We are looking forward to lots of family walks and runs.

Discovering her world

Trinity is starting to smile and makes fun noises when she is happy and content. We have not met our goal of both of us being ready for the day by 9am. I am guessing that was a little too ambitious but one day we will make it!!! She is letting me sleep about 5 hours straight at night recently and although that's not a lot it is very nice!!! We are enjoying the weather and have been able to go on walks and Jason is enjoying his jogging stroller! She is staying awake for longer and is bright eyed looking around at EVERYTHING... but especially interested in lights and the ceiling fan!!! We are relaxing and preparing for company visiting next week!!!

One Month Already
Wow, four weeks flew by. It does not seem like 4 weeks to me.... I guess time really does fly. This journey so far has been amazing. We are adjusting daily to this new little person who blesses us with diapers, screams, sleepless days/nights, laughter and awe. Every day we grow as a family.
Trinity is growing well and eating like a champ. I had a great night when she slept for 5 straight hours (keep in mind she had been awake for about 10 hours prior to that). We are introducing her to a pacifier this week. I think we have found one that she likes... (3rd time is a charm). Hopefully she will start to take it in the next few weeks. This will ease up the time she spends with me and will make her last longer with others (being happy). She currently is fond of sleeping in her car seat and not in her crib or cradle. I think she feels the sides of the seat are holding her in. This could be a hard/bad habit to break but for our sanity it works!!!
She has visited both of our work offices and friends. She has had a number of visitors and is one popular little girl!!! We are adjusting as Jason went back to work.... its going well!!! Every day we get out of our pajamas an hour earlier then the day before. Our goal is to make it by 9 a.m. by next week (but who knows).

Welcome 2011
We rang in the New Year with a wild party consisting of us, a movie and popcorn. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
It has been three weeks since Trinity arrived. Today she weighed in at 9lbs 7oz at the Doctors office. This is wonderful news!!! She was not gaining weight when we first took her home, so we were pumping and having to use a small tube in addition to normal feedings to get her weight up. She is a content but lethargic eater. She eats for 5 minutes and falls asleep for 3 hours.... so now we have her eating longer and gaining weight. We NO LONGER have to use the tube and she can eat normal now and it is not a two person job... just me!! This will relieve the feeding stress we have had, she didn't like the tube in her mouth. We feel very blessed to have a healthy little girl who is very content and happy!!! We are also grateful to not have another dr. appointment until her 2 month check up (2 appointments a week is not great for co-pays).
Jason is home for this week before returning to work. It is great to be able to have him home for this long and helping out. He is wonderful with Trinity and is a diaper changing machine (he is way quicker than I am and so far has changed more of her diapers).
